Vanity invite link
Claim a short, memorable invite link with your community's name in it.
What is a vanity invite link?
A vanity invite link is a custom invite link you choose, instead of the random code Root generates. It makes your community easier to share out loud, print, or put in a video description.
Your community needs to be level 2, which means two members have assigned cores to it. See Community levels.
The link stays claimed only while the community stays at level 2 or above. If the level drops, you lose the custom link.
Choose a code
Before you claim, pick a code that fits these rules:

Root checks as you type and shows Available! when a code is free. Two lengths are not allowed, 22 and 36 characters, because Root reserves those for the codes it generates itself. If you enter one, you are asked to pick a slightly shorter or longer code.
Claim your vanity invite link
- Manage Invitesclaim and manage the vanity invite link
- Desktop
- Mobile
- Select the community image in the sidebar.
- Select Community settings.
- Select Invites.
- Find Vanity invite link. It shows UNLOCKED once the community is level 2.
- Enter the code you want. Root checks whether it is free as you type.
- Select Claim.
- Check the confirmation, then confirm.
Your community is now reachable at the new link.
- Tap the community name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Community settings.
- Tap Invites.
- Find Vanity invite link.
- Enter the code you want.
- Tap Claim, then confirm.
If the community is below level 2, the section shows Locked and Unlocks at community level 2 instead of the claim box.
Share or remove your link

On the Invites page, next to your vanity invite link:
- Select the Copy icon to copy the link
- Select the Remove icon to give the link up
The page also shows how many times the link has been used.
On the Invites page, next to your vanity invite link, tap Copy to copy it or Remove to give it up.
Removing your vanity invite link frees the code for any other community to claim. Anyone using the old link can no longer join with it, so replace it anywhere you have shared it.
