Sign in and out

Access your Root account or sign out when you're done.

Sign in

Desktop

1. Open the Root app.
2. Enter your username.
3. Enter your password.
4. Select Login.

Mobile

1. Open the Root app.
2. Tap Sign In.
3. Enter your username.
4. Enter your password.
5. Tap Sign In.

Security verification

A Security Verification pop up window may appear during sign-in. This verification usually completes silently in the background. If interactive verification is needed, complete the on-screen challenge to continue. You can select Cancel to dismiss the pop up window.

Sign out

Desktop

1. Select your profile picture in the top-right corner.
2. Select Sign out at the bottom of the panel.
3. Select Sign out in the confirmation dialog.

Mobile

1. Tap Profile in the bottom navigation bar.
2. Tap Sign out.

Reset your password

Desktop

1. On the sign-in screen, select Forgot your username or password?
2. Select Reset password.
3. Enter the email address associated with your account.
4. Select Send.
5. Enter the verification code from your email.
6. Enter your new password and confirm it.
7. Select Save.

Mobile

1. Open the Root app and tap Sign In.
2. Select Forgot your username or password?
3. Select Reset password.
4. Enter the email address associated with your account.
5. Select Send.
6. Enter the verification code from your email.
7. Enter your new password.
8. Select Save.

Recover your username

Desktop

1. On the sign-in screen, select Forgot your username or password?
2. Select Recover username.
3. Enter the email address associated with your account.
4. Select Send.
5. Check your email for your username.

Mobile

1. Open the Root app and tap Sign In.
2. Select Forgot your username or password?
3. Select Recover username.
4. Enter the email address associated with your account.
5. Select Send.
6. Check your email for your username.
