Change your password

Change your password to keep your account secure.

Your new password must be at least 8 characters and include an uppercase letter, lowercase letter, number, and special character. Commonly used passwords are not allowed.

Forgotten your password?

You can't change your password here without entering your current one. If you've forgotten it, reset it from the sign-in screen instead, where you can request a verification code to set a new one. See Reset your password.

Desktop

1. Select your profile picture in the top-right corner.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select User profile.
4. Select Change password.
5. In the Password field, enter your current password.
6. In the New password field, enter your new password.
7. In the Confirm new password field, re-enter your new password.
8. Select Save.

Mobile

1. Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation bar.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Tap User profile.
4. Tap Change password.
5. In the Current password field, enter your current password.
6. In the New password field, enter your new password.
7. Tap Save.

Set a password

If you signed up with a passkey, or removed your password after adding one, your account may not have a password at all. In that case User profile shows Set password instead of Change password.

Desktop

Open Settings, then User profile, and select Set password.

Mobile

1. Tap the Profile tab.
2. Tap Settings, then User profile.
3. Tap Set password. The screen explains that this lets you sign in without your passkey.
4. Enter a New password.
5. Tap Set password, then confirm who you are.

Root confirms with Password set. There is a shortcut on the Passkeys screen too, which offers Set password when your account has none.
